Film Screenplays
Originally from New Jersey, Kirk graduated with honors from Duke University with a dual major in English and Art. Kirk then earned his M.F.A. in Film & Television at UCLA. Kirk's thesis film short won first place in the Sunbow Children's Film Awards while advancing to the finals of the Nissan FOCUS Awards.
After a brief stint as a set designer at Club Med in the Dominican Republic, Kirk embarked upon a highly successful career as an advertising copywriter and producer. He has created award-winning television commercial work for major national clients such as Hilton Hotels, Carnation Company, Post Cereals and Mattel Toys at top-ten agencies including Ogilvy & Mather and McCann-Erickson.
Kirk’s screenplays have received mentions from the Diane Thomas Screenwriting Awards at UCLA, the Nicholls Fellowships, Christopher Columbus Screenwriting Awards and America’s Best. His script “Matadora (The Angela Hernandez Story)†has been optioned by two separate production companies. Today, Kirk writes from his home in the Santa Barbara area, where he lives with his wife and two children. He is currently V.P., Creative Director at Evans, Hardy & Young Advertising.
